NJMP Thunderbolt In A Miata

Turn 1

Braking at 3 marker but can brake later, possibly at 2.5. Careful not to overbrake. Track out over exit curb if necessary.

Turn 2

No brakes. Did not manage to stay flat out, but a short lift is sufficient. Cutting inside curb and tracking out over curb is worth a lot of time.

Turn 3a With Chicane

Feels like a decreasing radius turn. Working toward light braking on entry and bleeding speed off in the turn itself.

Turn 3b With Chicane

Flick the car right to left and flat out. "Toss oversteer" is possible here and costs time. Cutting apex curb can be done to flatten the corner on a hot lap.

Turn 3c With Chicane

Should be flat out from 3b. Cut the apex curb if necessary, although I set many fast times without using the apex curb.

Upshifting at various points in 3c exit depending on how hot the lap is and surrounding traffic.

Turn 4

No brakes. Lifting just past the beginning of the entry curb, and can lift later, then get on power shortly after apex.

Turn 5

Brake and turn. Cutting the apex curb permits a lot more speed to be carried through making this a comfortable 4th gear turn.

Use exit curbing.

Turn 6

No brakes. Did not do flat out this time but almost. Upshift to 5th before turn in.

Turn 7

Very small braking is needed here. Very easy to overslow. Downshifting to 4th.

Turn 8

Flat out, I am actually doing it.

Turn 9

Right tires into the seam very shortly, maybe 1 foot at most, after the curb starts.

Turn 10

Left tires into the curb where the curb begins. This requires staying about 2 feet off the left edge of the track on approach.

Hold speed through the first half roughly of 10, then accelerate. Track out all the way left disregarding line for 11.

Turn 11

Try not to go too far right.

Turn 12

Cut the apex curb if necessary.

Turn 13

Flat out, use the first level of curbing.
